As a part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, Mount Bromo has become travelers’ favorite destination in Indonesia for years. People come from different countries to Mount Bromo to experience various things like to observe the panoramic sight of 3 mountains in the area.
Having many view-points, this destination provides multiple spots for the visitors to view Mount Bromo, Mount Bathok, and Mount Semeru. And recently, Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park opened a new location for travelers to enjoy this sight.
They call it the “Bromo Sky Bridge”. Let’s look into this place deeper and we’ll let you decide if this is a place worth visiting!
A Little Bit about Bromo Sky Bridge
The Bromo Sky Bridge is a glass bridge that stretches for 130-meters and sits at approximately 83 meters above the ground. After going through a long process of construction and perfection, Bromo Sky Bridge was officially opened to the public on June 27th, 2026.
This bridge is located in Ngadisari Village where Seruni Point is also located. Additionally, this location is accessible for travelers coming from the Probolinggo area, one of the many gateways to go to Mount Bromo.
Now you might wonder, “What can I see from this bridge?”
This bridge overlooks the vast caldera of Mount Tengger and standing on the glass bridge allows people to witness not only the grandeur of Mount Bromo, but also the mountains near it—Mount Bathok and Mount Semeru.
Why This Bridge Was Built
There are several reasons as to why this bridge was constructed for this destination. They are:
1.A New Alternative to See Mount Bromo
The location of this bridge overlooks 3 mountains in the area, including Mount Bromo. This position provides visitors with more options to experience viewing Mount Bromo similar to standing in a view-point.
It also helps with flow and crowd management, especially during high or peak season where thousands of people might be crowding multiple sunrise points.
2.To Help Elevate the Economy of the Locals
New places mean new job opportunities and this place would surely need the people to maintain it. From ticketing staff, local security, to parking management, they all need local people to fill in the positions.
Aside from location management, local sellers and tour guides can have the opportunity for a fresh start in this place.
3.Increases Destination’s Selling Point
A glass bridge can play a big part in marketing through its “instagrammable” label. Anyone who love to collect memories would for sure enjoy spending the morning or the evening in this location.
Itinerary wise, visiting this location helps extend the travelers time in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.
