OVERVIEW
This adventure-packed 2-day trip will take you on a journey through some of the most stunning natural landscapes in Indonesia.
Begin with midnight pick up with a comfortable private car driven by an experienced driver to guarantee your safety. You will also be accompanied by a friendly guide. Expect an insight into local life and interesting stories about the volcanoes.
First stop is Mount Bromo, where you’ll witness firsthand the awe-inspiring beauty of an active volcano as it emits plumes of smoke into the sky. As you explore this incredible geological wonder, your senses will be inundated with sights, sounds and smells that are truly unforgettable.
Next, the trip takes you to Madakaripura – a majestic waterfall nestled within a lush rainforest where you can cool off and immerse yourself in nature’s tranquility. Stay overnight in hotel near Mount Ijen area to recharge your energy on the first day. Then, we will take you to Paltuding Camp and hike to Ijen. There, you will see Ijen’s blue lake, mountains, and mesmerizing blue flames that create a magical ambiance. Witness miners working tirelessly in harsh conditions with toxic fumes. Then, they will extract valuable minerals from the mountain while braving extreme temperatures.
At the end of the trip, your driver can drop you off in Surabaya, Malang, or Ketapang Port. However, if you plan to continue to Bali, your driver can take you directly to your Bali hotel for an extra cost.

- If you wish to do the tour on your arrival day, make sure to book a flight that arrives in Surabaya at 22:30. You are also recommended to arrive in Surabaya/Malang a day before your trip D-Day, allowing more rest before your exploration.
- If you are from Yogyakarta, we suggest taking a train that arrives in Surabaya at 22:30. Choosing a train provides faster, cheaper, and a more comfortable transfer. Click here to book your train tickets.
- Worried about your luggage? Don’t worry! Our driver will be in charge of guarding your luggage in the car while our guide takes you around Mount Bromo & Madakaripura Waterfall.
- For drop-off, we provide multiple options depending on your plans. From Surabaya, Malang to Ketapang Port or Bali Hotel if you plan to continue your adventure to Bali (with additional cost).
- From Ketapang Port, it takes about 1 hour to cross to Bali, and Bali is 1 hour ahead of Java.
